Nathi x Ceci x Apple

As a photographer, artist, and storyteller, I am perpetually navigating the balance between creating fulfilling work aligned with my vision while also finding a way to commercialize it. I do believe it is the artist dilemma to make great work, pay the bills, and be enthralled with what you are producing. Because to do our best, we must feel something from it. Fortunately, this was one of those shoots where everything coalesced so beautifully, I walked away thrilled. When I put together these images for Apple, I knew I needed it to be narrative focused. An unfolding of a story. Not just singularly beautiful images, but I wanted them to meld together to cause the viewer to feel something for them. To know Nathaniel and Ceci by peering into their lives. One of the greatest lessons I have learned lately as a storyteller is to stop pushing and trying to create something that has never existed (inevitably we will, because no two moments are alike), but to listen, to watch, as the stories unfold right before us. That is the ticket to authenticity. That is what people can relate to.
